Please tell me how to fix after uninstall without restoring. Even if stuck at apple logo I can connect via USB to filesystem with ifunbox. Can i copy the removed file from another phone and fix?
Thanks
Yeah you can fix it by copying the default CGFontCache.plist file to the correct directory. I have the default CGFontCache.plist file for firmware 3.x and 4.x. If you are on any of these firmware versions copying that file to the correct directory should immediately fix the phone. The directory is System > Library > Fonts. Navigate to this folder and just paste the default file there and your phone should be perfect. If you need the file, let me know, I’ll send it to you. Hope this helps.
great tutorial… dhivehi font is really essential for us maldivians, specially when living abroad.
great work dude
Gr8 work dude! makes life much easier to keep updated on dhivehi news while abroad & on visits to islands.
=thumbs up=
better than iDhivehisites app as this cud be used in safari without appstore hassles
@MrMv: Thanks.. Its meant to simplify people’s lives.. Some people are selling these font packages you know, like ELL Mobiles and other Mobile Stores.. I hope that people would find out that its really easy to install on their own and not have to spend their money on something thats provided for free..
Hopefully, people will google and stumble upon this tutorial hehe..
Can i have the CGFontCache.plist file for 4.x. ? accidentally installed the wrong package and im stuck at apple logo. thnks
what phone do you use?
I tried this and it works great on my iPad, however to comment on articles with dhivehi, it seems the right to left does not work. Is there any good solution for it? BTW thanks.
Hi
I have installed iDhivehi iPad on my iPad and Im able to view dhivehi websites. however i have noticed that im not able to view ms word or presentation files written in dhivehi. is there a way i can view Wordfiles and Presentation files ?
Thank you
Shah
@Rahu: I have not yet tried to implement that for the iOS but I think you would need to look into localizing the iPhone and that would take some work because you would need to find some sort of a hack or make an application that lets you switch from default fonts to Dhivehi fonts.
@Shah: I haven’t looked into that either but I think that if you have the font A_Faseyha, A_Ilham, A_Utheem, A_Waheed, Mv_Iyyu_Formal or Faruma you would probably be able to see the fonts correctly on iWork.. I didn’t know that Microsoft had ported its Office Suite to iOS? :-\ What app do you use on the iPad to see Microsoft Office files?
how do i install cydia on factory unlocked iphone 4???
wil that permanently change my iphone if i jailbreak it?
No. It wouldn’t permanently change your iPhone if you jailbreak your iPhone. You can always restore to an original firmware if you are on a factory unlocked iPhone and are not happy with Cydia. Depending on your firmware, there are a number of ways that you can jailbreak although you can currently only do a tethered jailbreak on 4.2.1.
Is this software support IOS 4.2.1 ?
Not tested yet. But it should work on 4.2.1 as well. If anybody does test it out, please do post in the comments. Also, theres no worries if it doesn’t work when you install it on your device because the install script automatically backs up your original files safely so that when you uninstall the package through Cydia, it will restore all the backups and the device would be good as new. If you have any problems please let me know..
Thanks for your support.
Hi dear, my apad was in recovery mode now so i will try to restore, but after downloading the software update file which is 550mb but cannot restore .cant restore an unnoun error ocured.this massage was appear in the screen.why it was happaning?if you know the solution letme know.?
Thanks
@Abdul Muhain: I dunno whether you made a mistake or whether it was a typo but, aPad is a fake version/fake knock off of an iPad.. If it is actually an iPad, please state the device model, current firmware and the firmware version you are trying to restore to for me to give you an accurate answer as there are a lot of different variations depending on the above details.. The error is probably occurring because you are trying to restore to a lower firmware version than 4.2.1. If you didn’t save SHSH blobs using Cydia or Tiny Umbrella, you cannot do a restore to a previous firmware version..
Does not work on iPad 4.2.1 firmware.
It will not work on 4.2.1. Please read through the tutorial as I have issued warnings for this reason.. 4.2.1 support comming soon!
Any updates for 4.2.1
When will u be releasing the IOS 4.2.1 support version?
sorry.. been working really hard on another project.. http://www.schmep.com/ … check it out.. I’ll work on a release soon
Please have a read here -> http://www.jaxian.net/?p=689 <- I have explained why there is a delay in release of iDhivehi 4.2.1
Waiting for thaana font for 4.2.1
You don’t have to wait any longer – I just released it today. Follow this link.
Hi,
I’m using an iphone 3g with IOS 4.2.1… i installed the dhivehi font package of yours but doesnt seem to be working… what could be the problem?
well, it doesn’t work for iPhone 3G or 3GS. It only works for the iPhone 4 and iPad. I have written about it on the package description too. Please remove the package before it causes system problems. Please always read the package description before installing packages to your phone. It might cause you some serious problems.
ok… but i have another question… it doesnt wok for my iphone 3g but installed it to another 3gs and seems to be working fine… what could be the problem??
Updated cydia. Now ur font package cannot be seen in ur cydia saurcies
@imon: Well, Apple implemented some security updates on 4.2.1 and one of them is ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization). I think its due to this feature that it works on some 3G phones and some 3GS phones and it doesn’t on others. Theres nothing I can do about that right now. Its a risk to install it on any other device other than the iPad 1 and iPhone 4. Sometimes it might work. Sometimes your phone might crash otherwise.
@Xian: Did you try adding my source again after installing cydia? Try going to this link and follow the tutorial to add my source.
Any updates for 4.3.1
not at the moment..
I Have iphone4 running on iOS 4.3.1, i could not install thaana font on my phone please help to install thaana fonts on my iphone
Thanks, Yoosey
Of course you cant install iDhivehi on your phone because I haven’t released a package for 4.3.1.. I duno if anybody else have released a package for this version (4.3.1).
Can nay one tell me if there is any dhivehi fonts support for iPad 4.3.1
Or when will the package is going to be release
hey ablho! Well, I haven’t released iDhivehi 4.3.1 for iPad or iPhone yet. I don’t think anybody else have either. I don’t have the firmware file yet. If you guys want the package really badly, please provide me with a 4.3.1 firmware file for iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. I don’t have the firmware file so I haven’t updated. Alternatively, you could loan me a device on 4.3.1 so I could make the package, test it, release the package and give the device back to you.
y dont u show us how to make dhivehi font as a tutorial
Here you go. Go here. Its a very informative tutorial on how to install dhivehi fonts manually by MrMv. You don’t always have to wait for me to release it. If you are qualified enough feel free to mingle with your phone
But beware that your phone might get bricked if you get the CGFontCache.plist font wrong and might have to restore your phone to get it right. Remember to ALWAYS keep backup files of the files you mess around with so you always have a safety net. So, if you are on a locked phone, please save the SHSH blobs before attempting and use Tiny Umbrella (run TSS Server) while restoring your phone or else your baseband WILL get updated and there is no going back.
cant download Download http://www.fileducky.com/PqaoxuPR/, Extract the zipfile to any folder. ( page not fond) :’( can u tell how to make fonts for iphone
Thats how you do it.. Try finding another application by googling.. You need to SSH into your device.. I’m a little busy to write a tutorial these days.. If I wasn’t, I would’ve released iDhivehi 4.3.1 now
Sorry..
can u tel me the name of software that ur using to make fonts
Well, I use a mac so it won’t work on windows. But I use an application called Cyber Duck or iPhone Explorer (maybe they have it for windows as well I dunno)
is that a software use to make fonts like cydia dhivehi fonts
btw how you making font like cydia installour
nop.. I dun use a software to make these packages. Just Cyber Duck to SSH into the device, TextEdit to edit the .plist files and Terminal to compile the packages. Its actually dun manually using the help of some applications.
what the name of applications
please refer to my comment above
Hi iaN,
I’ve modified Thaana font files for iOS 4.3.2 and tested on my iPhone 4. Thaana fonts are displaying properly on all dhivehi (thaana font supporting sites).
I’ve all the required modified files (such as modified CGFontCache.plist,,,,etc). What I don’t know is how to make them to a package to install it on the iPhones (I mean like cydia package). At the moment these files need to be copied to iPhone manually.
Could you please help me to make it as a package?
Anyone who wants to view /read the websites like Haveeru, sun, miadh, haamadaily, muraasil, vaikaradhoolive..etc can use these files…it is working fine…pls let me know
Here is a link to a tutorial that can help you make a cydia repository. You have to make a repository and compile packages using terminal/cmd. Good Luck! If you want I could release your work through my source – you’re most welcome to. I could compile it and release it as a package and give credit to you as the author of the package. If you want to make your own repository and release it, thats fine too. Just don’t sell the mods.
@ windstorm how did u make fonts can u show me how to make as a tutorial
ranko, I don’t make fonts. What I said was I’ve modified the required files to rander Thaana fonts (to read thaana font supported websites & documents ) on iOS 4.3.2. The files are required to be copied to the iPhone manually at the moment. Its very simple to do it even manually with i-funbox.
What I want to do now is to make a DEB file (a package to install these on iPhone). I don’t know how to write the scripts to make a deb file. If I knew I would already uploaded this as a repo on cydia. Anyone interested pls help me to make an installation package.
Well, for starters, you’d need a domain and webhosting package to host a cydia repo. Follow the link I provided above and you can make a deb file in no time. Its not that difficult. I can help you and make it into a package and like I said earlier, release it through my cydia repository and give you credits as the author. If you are interested please contact me through the contact us page or send an email to ian@jaxian.net. You’ll reach a bigger audience by releasing it through us as a lot of people use our source to download and install dhivehi fonts for iDevices.
If you are not interested in this however, you can release it by making your own cydia repository and package. I was going to make a dhivehi font package for iOS 4.3.2 but since you have already made it, you can contribute and save me the trouble of making the package myself. Ofcourse, I will test the package before releasing. You have to write scripts to run when the user installs and uninstalls the package to restore the files back to the original otherwise their phones would be broken.
So, @windstorm, make a decision and let me know
Either way is fine. If you don’t want to contribute and if you want to do it on your own and release it through your own repository, thats fine too. I’ll be making the package shortly anyways if you don’t want to contribute
Have a nice day!
is there iphone sdk for windows 7
Well, you can’t really develop for the iPhone/iPod/iPad on a windows using the official SDK from Apple (Xcode and stuff) but there are a number of 3rd Party options you could use for windows:
1) Flash CS5
2) Airplay SDK
3) Unity 3D
4) Stonetrip S3D
5) Appcelerator Titanium
6) Genuitec MobiOne
7) Dragonfire SDK
Hi
Thank you for this service its very great work.
once i installed this source my web site http://www.sameerhaaalifu.com not working normally my web site working without this source normal safrai. pls. advice
@Sameer: i’m sorry. I didn’t quite understand your question. The website you stated is working before you installed my font packages and it does not afterwards? Please state what firmware your device is on and what your device is. I am using an iPhone 4 with firmware version 4.3.2 and your website works perfectly well on my iPhone. Did you install the correct package which corresponds to your device?
This is how the website displays on my iPhone 4:
What kinda stupid are you? Try to put your source url on the step 2. We are not interested in your source name :@
Please update ur iDhivehi to iOS 4.3.3
@Steve: If you are not interested in the source name, I suggest you find other means of installing dhivehi fonts on your phone. Nobody forced you to use my source or visit my website. Secondly, there are some people who need visual demonstrations of how to add sources because they don’t genuinely know.
@Ali: I will but cannot confirm when. If you want dhivehi fonts, then don’t update yet or wait till I or someone else releases a package. Or you can always manually edit the files needed to install the fonts. Try googling and check MrMv’s blog.
I couldn’t instal. I am using 4.3.1… Help me
I haven’t released iDhivehi for iOS 4.3.1 so you obviously cannot install it. If you want to use iDhivehi I suggest you upgrade to 4.3.2 which is the latest version iDhivehi supports or you can update to 4.3.3 which is the latest iOS version but iDhivehi doesn’t support it currently.
If you really want to view dhivehi fonts on your device, I suggest you upgrade your firmware to 4.3.2 for now until I can release a version for 4.3.3. Then if you’d like, you can upgrade to 4.3.3 and install it. But, for now, iDhivehi supports 4.3.2 and not 4.3.1.
I want the he default CGFontCache.plist file for firmware 4.x. I accidently installed x3. Thanks
i use iphone 4G (4.0.2)
@riya: Why don’t you try uninstalling iDhivehi via Cydia? When you uninstall via Cydia all your original files will be restored. If you cannot access Cydia, then SSH into your phone and the original backup of your CGFontCache.plist file will be stored (iDhivehi backs up the original file automatically to restore on uninstall) as /System/Library/Fonts/Cache/FontBackup.ttf. Just change the file name from FontBackup to CGFontCache and the extention from .ttf to .plist and place it in /System/Library/Fonts/ directory.
SMS show squares on 4.3.3
SMS? Sorry. Support for SMS has not been yet added to my packages so it will show squares. I didn’t even release a keyboard package so I don’t know how you’re typing on SMS either.
i am not typing sms in dhivehi and to i dont want… just wana see the unicode part from sms i get from twitter and facebook.
I see. Sorry. I wasn’t aware of that problem.
Great site.
Is iDhivehi working on iOS 4.3.4 ?
Nah. Not yet. I don’t plan on updating it to 4.3.4 or 4.3.5. Please do not update to these versions if you plan on using iDhivehi on your iDevices. These versions are only primarily focused on patching of comex’s jailbreakme. Instead, just patch up the security hole using Cydia after jailbreaking. I think I’d probably release iDhivehi for iOS 5.0 if no significant updates are available for 4.x.
i have changed my 3Gs devise to 4G.and i installed the 3Gs’s backup to my new 4G devise.4G devise is running on 4.3.3
now i want to read news, write SMS and edit my previous dhivehi notes and SMS.but i couldn’t do it, i already installed idhivehi 4.3.3 from this your helpful and great full human sources.
so please give me helpful advise.thank you
Well, if you’re using an iPhone 4 and are on 4.3.3, you should definitely be able to install our iDhivehi 4.3.3 package and it will definitely work without fail. Unfortunately, I do not provide system wide font support at the moment and you will not be able to type / edit dhivehi (may it be your previous notes or whatever) on any application. iDhivehi will ONLY allow you to read dhivehi websites at the moment. Thanks for your interest and we are working on extending support system wide.
thanks man i almost bought the fonts…you saved me….
No worries. Always check back for new releases of iDhivehi when Apple releases new firmwares. We always try to update as soon as possible. Out of curiosity though, how much do they charge you for the installation of the fonts?
is there any possibility to write in Thaana on Word-pad or word-processor. i wonder some times, what i want is not only read Thaana websites. but to write in Dhivehi. I need an answer.
We do not currently support that functionality on our packages but there was a package by kudanai hosted at m0bi.com that might work. But its not for the latest iOS versions. I think its for versions before 4.2.1. They have a Thaana keyboard so it might work.

Hi there, i can’t seemed to install ‘iDhivehi 5.0′ onto my iphone4 which is running on version 5.0.1.
The note that i get is: ‘The requested modification cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed’.
And the only option i get is ‘Continue Queuing’
Hoping for a quick response!
Thanks!

Yeah, thats because the package was specifically meant for iOS 5.0 only. I didn’t release any package for iOS 5.0.1 or higher yet – sorry.
I haven’t made a release for iOS 5.0.1 yet – Sorry!
