iPhone MMS Settings for Maldives (Dhiraagu) [Updated - 16/11/2011]

Here are the MMS Settings for Maldives (Dhiraagu) that worked for me. I tested on two different iPhones. It should work for you too.

First go to Settings > General > Network and check if theres a Cellular Data Network Box there. If there is one, continue with this tutorial. If there isn’t a box labeled like that, first follow this tutorial then come back to this one.

Now assuming the Cellular Data Network box is there, Tap on it and you should be presented with a number of boxes to fill in Data.

First fill in the Cellular Data Boxes with the following information:

APN: internet.dhimobile
Username: [DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING HERE]
Password: [DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING HERE]

Then fill the MMS boxes with the following information.

APN: internet.dhimobile
Username: [DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING HERE]
Password: [DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING HERE]
MMSC: http://mmsc.dhimobile.com.mv
MMS Proxy: 172.24.97.4:8080
MMS Max Message Size: [DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING HERE]
MMS UA Prof URL: [DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING HERE]

For MMS Settings, Dhiraagu recommends using mms.dhimobile as an APN but, that doesn’t work most of the time! Instead use internet.dhimobile as an APN and it works every time. I can send and receive MMS now. I’ve tested on 3 different iPhone 4′s.

Also the “[DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING HERE]” means do not input anything there. Just leave it blank. Look at the pictures above for reference.

REBOOT iPHONE. IT WOULD MOST PROBABLY NOT WORK IF YOU DON’T REBOOT. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU WRITE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN THE “MY NUMBER” BOX AT SETTINGS > PHONE > MY NUMBER. INCLUDE AREA AND COUNTRY CODE.

After reboot, enjoy your new MMS features on your iPhone.

Also, keep your “Cellular Data” turned on if you want to send an MMS or receive it for that matter. You cannot receive MMS until you turn on the “Cellular Data” toggle. Its at Settings > General > Network.

I haven’t really researched for Wataniya MMS Settings. But those who have a Wataniya SIM, please share your experiences with us and we will write an article about it and give you credit!

[Latest Update - 16/11/11]:

  • I tested the MMS settings on a non-jailbroken iPhone 4S on firmware 5.0 and I am able to send and receive MMS easily. (You must have cellular data network turned on to send or receive MMS). Further more, I was able to use internet tethering feature with the same APN as listed above (internet.dhimobile) and use the Personal Hotspot feature with my laptop.

[Update - 12/12/10]:

  • In response to recent comments, I tested the above settings on two different iPhone 4′s. I am very happy to announce that I was able to SEND and RECEIVE MMS without any difficulties after following the above tutorial.
  • If you are on a jailbroken iPhone on 4.1 or later you might not see the General > Network > Cellular Data Network box. If this is so, there is a way to trick iTunes into believing your iPhone is a “Factory Unlocked” iPhone. There is a new tool called SAM (better google it for now if you are interested until I get around to making a tutorial). Use with caution.

  4. thanks dude. I was having a little trouble with this. ultrasn0w sets up some incorrect symlinks in 1.1-1 so APN editing doesn’t always become available. You can use the carrier reset fix from the pushfix repo or manually edit plists to do that.

Cheers. Btw I saw your game in the appstore.

  21. Hi! Jaxian Guy.

Thanks for your precious works towards iPhone lovers in our community. I am trying to let you know that the MMS setting on this website is out of date which will not support any firmware which was released after iOS 4.1. If i am not wrong once after restoration of iOS 4.2.1 will not be able to send MMS with the setting on your tutorial.

Apple has been cutting ways to the developers to complete the rest of Apple Logo which left without complete. So i request you politely so put this tutorial on your site in a graphical way, by which most of the maldivian iPhone lovers can make use of it. I have been testing and put lot of my time in iPhone experiments which made me to find this on one of the site, it looks a maldivian guy site, cos the URL says MV at the end.

Note: i have tested MMS on iPhone 3GS ios4.3.3, it looks surprising and works 100%.. I think this MMS settings will work on all iDevices from iOS4.2.1, 4.3.1,4.3.2,4.3.3 and most probably the coming iOS4.3.4 or iOS5

Here is the steps for MMS

    DHIRAAGU

Step 1. Goto Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network

Step 2. in CELLULAR DATA type

    APN:epc.tmobile.com
Username: leave blank [dont type anything here]
Password: leave blank [dont type anything here]

    Step 3. in MMS

    APN:epc.tmobile.com
Username: leave blank [dont type anything here]
Password: leave blank [dont type anything here]
    MMSC:http://mmsc.dhimobile.com.mv
    MMS Proxy:172.24.97.4:8080
    MMS Max Message Size:614400
    MMS UA Prof URL:http://mmsc.dhimobile.com.mv

You’re DONE. No need to REBOOT or Respring iPhone, Send MMS to the loved ones and LOVE iPhones.

ACTUALLY ALL THE CREDITS GOES TO THE GUY WHO HAS WRITTEN THE TUTORIAL ON HIS SITE. HE HAS DONE THE JOB.

  22. I forgot to put this on my comment, so please put his one also with the tutorial.

Mos of the time some of us forget to SWITCH ON the CELLULAR DATA once after the MMS setting. That’s why MMS are not being sent, To make CELLULAR DATA on

Goto Settings>General>Network> then switch ON the CELLULAR DATA.

    That’s it.

    Thank you.

  25. Hey Hasko,

Thanks for the information and tutorials you have provided. Looks very promising. I don’t know if it works for iPhone 4 on 4.3.3 because I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 on 4.3.3 and it isn’t showing the Cellular Data Network tab (so I can’t really input these settings and test it out). I’m working on a work around for this. Maybe you’d like to become a contributor to j.a.x.i.a.n and write tutorials and articles? If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll make a user for you. :-D We are always looking for hardworking good contributors :-D

    Thanks.

    MMSC: http://mms.wataniya.mv

  41. Hey people,

I am a iPhone Phreak not “freak” but I think there is a correction to the MMS settings, MMS size should also be included I think, because when I first got my i3G I figured it out myself and posted it on a forum back then and what Hasko has posted is not correct because its been almost 2 years since I’ve been using MMS settings on my iDevice. What I think is the correct MMS settings is this.

    APN: mms.dhimobile
Username: leave blank [dont type anything here]
Password: leave blank [dont type anything here]
    MMSC: mmsc.dhimobile.com.mv
    MMS Proxy: 172.24.97.4:8080
    MMS Max Message Size: 102400
    MMS UA Prof URL: mmsc.dhimobile.com.mv

Guys please try these settings and let me know. It works on 5.0.1 as I’m currently using it on iOS 5.0.1.

    Thanks

  43. Marco!

MMS setting on iDevices which was written on this tutorial was correct & maybe it not correct now. Cos the firmware updates are releasing day by day. Sometimes it might happen with the bugs inside the iOS. We know that latest firmware updates are having lot of bugs. isn’t it…

    Factory Unlocked: Yes
    Jailbroken: No
    Network: Dhiraagu

First of all wanted to thank you guys for posting solutions. I just configured MMS & Internet Tethering on my phone and tested them. I configured using “internet.dhimobile” settings and it’s working perfectly. I sent and received MMS multiple times, used internet tethering via USB cable & personal hot spot (wifi) and everything is working perfectly. :D
